本品在280℃真空升华，可溶于乙二醇二甲醚、二甘醇二甲醚和四氢呋喃，微溶于乙。在干燥的空气中稳定，在潮湿的空气中吸潮水解。本品是一种温和的高选择性还原剂，在0℃的或二甘醇中可还原酮、醛、和酰氯，不还原脂肪酸酯和腈，但可还原脂肪酸和酯环酸的苯酯。
This product sublimes at 280℃ under vacuum. It is soluble in dimethoxyethane, diglyme and THF, and slightly soluble in diethyl ether. It is stable in dry air but it can be hydrolyzed in moist air. This product is a mild high selective reducing agent, which can reduce ketones, aldehydes and acyl chloride in diethyl ether or diethylene glycol at 0℃. It can’t reduce aliphatic acid ester and nitrile, but can reduce phenyl esters of aliphatic acid and alicyclic acid.

在医药、香料、农药、染料以及其他精细有机合成中用作还原剂。广泛用于甾体酮的还原。在抗艾滋病的原料药阿扎那韦的生产中用作还原剂。
It is used as reducing agent in organic synthesis of pharmaceuticals, perfumes, pesticides, dyes and other fine chemicals. It was widely used in reducing steroid ketone. It is used as the reducing agent for synthesizing Azanavir, which is an anti-AIDS API.
